Founded in 2001 in Ontario Canada, Canadian Solar (NASDAQ: CSIQ) operates as a global energy provider with successful business subsidiaries in 20 countries on 6 continents. Canadian Solar is both a global leading manufacturer of solar PV modules and a provider of solar energy solutions, with over 12,000 employees globally.

With state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Canada, China, Brazil and South East Asian countries, Canadian Solar now has around 9 GW module manufacturing capacity and has delivered more than 32 GW of premium quality solar modules to customers in over 150 countries in the past 18 years.

To date, Canadian Solar has energized 4.6 GWp of solar power projects globally and owns 1.15 GWp of solar power plants that are in commercial operation, with a resale value of approximately US$1.23 billion. In addition, Canadian Solar has a geographically diversified utility-scale solar power project pipeline totalling 9.5 GWp, with projects being developed in the U.S., Japan, Latin America, Australia, EMEA, South East Asia, India and China. Of the total project pipeline, 2.9 GWp of projects are at late-stage development and have secured energy offtake agreements.

In 2017, Canadian Solar achieved a revenue of US$3.39 billion, ranking No. 3 among all global solar companies. Meanwhile, Canadian Solar was listed as the Top 1 Company in Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s Tier 1 Module Manufacturers ranking in terms of bankability for Q2 2018, and was named as Top 3 Global Utility-scale Solar PV Project Developer for 2017 by GTM Research.
Canadian Solar has developed an innovative cool module design, Ku Modules, based on Low Internal Current (LIC) module technology – the next generation of module technology. The new Ku Modules portfolio is available in both poly- and monocrystalline.

Canadian Solar operates three state-of-the-art PV research centres for cells, modules and systems in Canada and China. Combined more than 250 scientists, engineers and technicians conduct research to continuously improve our solar cell and solar module technologies. With R&D investments of over 600 million USD, more than 1000 global patents and strategic R&D partnerships with NREL, ECN and DuPont, Canadian Solar is a globally recognized innovator of the solar industry.
